  • butter, softened - 2 Tbsp
  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • packed brown sugar
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • flour
  • water
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • chopped apple - 1/2 c

How to make caramel dumplings:

Dumplings:1 1/4 c. flour1/2 c. sugar2 tsp. baking powder1/2 c. milk2 Tbsp. butter, softened2 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. chopped apple In skillet, heat the butter, sugar and water to boiling. Mix all dumpling ingredients. Drop by tablespoon into sauce. Cook and simmer for 20 minutes. Do not lift lid. Serve warm.
