Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- brown sugar
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- water
- baking powder
- white sugar - 1/3 c
- Cook, uncovered, about 5 minutes
How to make caramel dumplings:
Place in 1 1/2-quart saucepan which has tight lid. Cook, uncovered, about 5 minutes.Dough:1 1/4 c. flour1 1/2 tsp. baking powder1/3 c. white sugar1/8 tsp. salt2 Tbsp. butter1/3 c. milk1/2 tsp. vanilla Sift dry ingredients; cut in butter and add milk and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Drop by rounded teaspoonful into boiling caramel sauce; cover tightly. Boil over very low heat 20 minutes. Do not remove cover while cooking.
