Caramel chocolate pecan bars
Ingredients/Components
- semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- firmly packed brown sugar - 1 c
- pecan halves
- butterscotch chips - 1/2 c
- unsalted butter - 2/3 c
- unsalted butter, softened - 1/2 c
How to make caramel chocolate pecan bars:
Filling:1 c. pecan halves2/3 c. unsalted butter1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar1/2 c. butterscotch chips1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips Heat oven to 350°. In large mixer bowl, combine all crust ingredients. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often until particles are fine (1 to 2 minutes). Press onto bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle pecans over crust.In 1-quart saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full boil (4 to 5 minutes). Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour over pecans. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until filling is bubbly. Immediately sprinkle with butterscotch and chocolate chips. Allow to melt slightly (3 to 5 minutes). Slightly swirl chips as they melt. Leave some whole for marbled effect. Cool completely. Yield: 3 dozen.
