Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 c
- shortening or margarine - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- almond extract
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour
- salt - 1 tsp
- red food coloring - 1/2 tsp
- confectioners sugar - 1 c
How to make candy cane cookies:
Cream butter, margarine or shortening, egg, almond extract and vanilla extract together. Add flour, salt and confectioners sugar. Divide dough in half and add red food coloring to one of the halves. With well floured hands roll balls of dough into strips about 4 inches long. Placing a red and a plain strip together twist and then shape into a cane.
