Candy cane cookies

Ingredients/Components

• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1 tsp
• flour
• confectioners sugar - 1 c
• almond extract
• egg - 1 item
• shortening - 1/2 c
• margarine - 1/2 c
• red food coloring - 1 item

How to make candy cane cookies:

Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, sugar, egg and flavors. Blend in flour and salt. Divide dough in half and color one portion red. Shape into ropes and roll together; twist slightly. Curve down to form cane. Bake about 9 minutes at 375°.
