  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1 c
  • sifted confectioners sugar - 1 c
  • peppermint extract
  • crushed peppermint - 1/2 c

How to make candy cane cookies:

Sift flour and salt. Combine all ingredients together. Divide dough in half. Mix red food coloring in 1/2 dough. Roll dough in a strip (each color). Place side by side and twist into cane effect. Before baking, sprinkle over canes 1/2 cup crushed pe
