Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • vinegar - 2 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • ketchup - 1/2 c
  • prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • can kidney beans - 1 item
  • bacon, diced - 1 lb
  • large can pork and beans - 1 item
  • 2 can lima beans

How to make calico beans:

Brown bacon, beef and onion. Drain some juice from all beans. Save in case you need during baking. Mix all together. Bake, uncovered, at 300° for 1 1/2 hours. Serves about 12.

May use butter beans or garbanzo beans.
