Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt
- salad oil - 1 c
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- medium onions - 2 item
- green pepper - 1 item
- white vinegar - 3/4 c
- large head cabbage - 1 item
- medium can or jar pimentos - 1 item
How to make cabbage salad:
Layer into bowl, shredded cabbage, pepper sliced paper thin, and onions sliced thin. Drain pimentos and put on top. Do not stir.In saucepan combine all other ingredients; boil 2 minutes. Pour over veggies. Do not stir. Let stand overnight before serving. Will keep 1 1/2 to 2 weeks in refrigerator. Perfect for summer picnics.
