Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- milk - 1 c
- all purpose flour
- egg yolks - 2 item
- coconut - 1 c
- shortening - 1 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- self rising flour - 1/2 c
- Add eggs
- butternut flavoring - 1 Tbsp
How to make butternut pound cake:
Cream shortening and sugar until light. Add eggs. Beat for 1 minute at high speed. Add 1 cup of flour, beating for 1 minute. Add rest of flour alternately with milk. Add flavoring. Mix well. Bake 1 hour at 325° and then turn up heat to 350° for 10 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.Frosting:2/3 c. sugar1 stick butter2/3 c. milk1 c. coconut2 egg yolks Beat egg yolks until smooth. Add sugar, milk and butter. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Cool. Spread on cake. Sprinkle coconut over cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, For large groups.
