  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 3/4 c

How to make buttermilk pound cake:

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs until fluffy and white. Add rest of ingredients with flour last, alternating flour and buttermilk. Bake 1 hour at 325° for Bundt or tube pan at 350° for layers.
