Buttermilk biscuits
Ingredients/Components
- buttermilk - 3/4 c
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- shortening - 4 Tbsp
- self-rising flour - 2 c
How to make buttermilk biscuits:
Mix flour and soda. Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles corn meal. Add buttermilk; mix to form soft dough. Turn onto floured surface; knead lightly several times until dough is smooth. Roll to desired thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
