- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- butter - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- dark brown sugar - 1 c
- plain flour - 3 c
- box confectioners sugar - 3/4 item
- nuts optional - 1 c
- white sugar - 1/2 c
- maple flavoring - 1 tsp
- box light brown sugar - 1 item
- Icing:1 stick butter
How to make brown sugar pound cake:
Icing:1 stick butter1/4 c. milk1/2 c. chopped nuts1 c. dark brown sugar3/4 box confectioners sugar Cream the shortening and butter with sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together the dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Stir in flavoring and nuts. Pour batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 25 minutes.Icing (optional): Bring to a boil the butter, brown sugar and milk, then add confectioners sugar. Add nuts and spread on cake.
