Brown sugar chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients/Components

• vanilla - 1 Tbsp
• milk - 2 Tbsp
• salt - 1 tsp
• baking soda - 3/4 tsp
• chocolate chips - 1 c
• egg - 1 item
• all-purpose flour
• firmly packed brown sugar
• shortening butter flavored Crisco - 3/4 c
• pecans or walnuts finely ground - 1 c

How to make brown sugar chocolate chip cookies:

Cream together first 5 ingredients. Mix flour, salt, sugar and soda together. Add to sugar mixture gradually. Mix in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes for chewy cookies, 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen.
