Ingredients/Components

  • milk, scalded - 2 c
  • crumbled dry bread - 4 c
  • cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
  • ground nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 c
  • maple syrup - 1/2 c
  • eggs, well beaten - 3 item
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp

How to make bread pudding:

Heat oven to 350°. Combine milk and bread crumbs in a large bowl and allow to soak for 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well blended. Pour into a buttered 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake for 45 minutes, until firm in center and a golden brown. Cool in the pan and cut into squares. May be served plain or with a sauce as a dessert. Serves 8 to 10.
