Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- paprika
- garlic powder - 3 Tbsp
- black pepper
- cayenne pepper
- thyme - 2 Tbsp
- onion powder - 2 Tbsp
- trout fillets - 1 item
How to make blackened trout:
Spice Mix:4 Tbsp. paprika3 Tbsp. garlic powder2 Tbsp. onion powder2 Tbsp. salt2 Tbsp. thyme1 1/2 Tbsp. cayenne pepper1 1/2 Tbsp. black pepper Mix Spice Mix and store in airtight container. Melt butter and set aside. Coat fish fillets with Spice Mix. Spray heavy cast-iron skillet with vegetable spray. Place skillet on medium-high heat and heat until hot. Add two tablespoons of butter to skillet. Then place fillets into skillet on butter. Cook about 2 to 3 minutes on each side until done (flakey).
