- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- paprika
- garlic powder - 1 tsp
- black pepper - 1 tsp
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
- thyme - 2 tsp
- onion powder - 1 tsp
- boneless chicken breast - 1 item
How to make blackened chicken:
Blackened Seasoning:1 Tbsp. paprika2 tsp. thyme1 tsp. onion powder1 tsp. garlic powder1 tsp. sugar1 tsp. salt1 tsp. black pepper1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper Combine in a small jar and store covered. Makes 3 tablespoons.Heat dry, heavy skillet (not nonstick) until drop of water sizzles on surface. Pound chicken breast to 1/2-inch thickness. Dip both sides in melted butter or margarine. Sprinkle each side with 1 teaspoon blackened seasoning. Place chicken in hot skillet; cook until cooked through and blackened, 2 or 3 minutes per side.
