Blackberry jelly
Ingredients/Components
- blackberries - 2 qt
- sugar - 5 c
- box Sure-Jell - 1 item
How to make blackberry jelly:
Crush thoroughly the fully ripe berries. Place in jelly bag and squeeze out juice.Measure 3 1/2 cups of juice into 6 to 8-quart saucepan. If there is not enough juice, add water. Mix Sure-Jell with juice in saucepan. Over high heat, quickly bring mixture to a hard boil, stirring occasionally. At once add sugar. Bring to a full rolling boil. Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and skim off foam. Pour at once into jelly jars. Leave 1/2-inch space. Seal with paraffin or 2-piece metal lids. Yields 8 medium jars.
