Best chocolate cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- shortening - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- chocolate - 2 sq
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- sour milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- few drops red food coloring - 1 item
- Then add all but last 3
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- powdered sugar 3 1/2 c - 1 lb
- condensed milk - 1/4 c
- chopped nuts optional - 1 c
How to make best chocolate cake:
Mix first 3 ingredients well. Then add all but last 3. Add them last. Mix well. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes in 13 x 9-inch pan or make 2 or 3 layers and bake for 20 minutes. Frost layers with Uncooked Fudge Frosting.Uncooked Fudge Frosting:4 sq. chocolate1/2 c. butter or margarine1 egg1 lb. powdered sugar (3 1/2 c.)1/4 c. condensed milk1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts (optional) Melt chocolate and butter together. Combine rest of ingredients, beat well. Makes good fudge also, refrigerate for fudge.I use this to frost layered Best Chocolate Cake.
