Beef stroganoff
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- dry mustard - 1/4 tsp
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- cooked rice - 1 item
- beef stew meat 3/4-inch pieces - 1 lb
- can sliced mushrooms stems and pieces save liquid - 1 oz
How to make beef stroganoff:
Melt butter in heavy skillet. Saute onions until soft. Remove onion. Combine flour and seasonings. Coat meat with flour and brown on all sides. Drain mushrooms and measure liquid. Add liquid, Worcestershire sauce and onion to meat. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Stir in sour cream and heat. Do not boil. Serve over hot cooked rice.
