Bean salad
Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 3/4 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- can yellow wax beans - 1 item
- can red kidney beans - 1 item
- can garbanzo beans - 1 item
- can cut green beans - 1 item
- small red onion, sliced - 1 item
How to make bean salad:
Heat first 6 ingredients and melt sugar. Open cans of beans and drain off juice. Put beans into large bowl or large jar. Add onions. Pour sugar/vinegar mixture over beans while mixture is still hot. Set aside to cool. Place in refrigerator. Stir occasionally. Marinate 4 hours or overnight. Drain juice and save for salad dressing. Serve beans drained. Unused beans can be returned to juice.
