  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • chopped pecans - 1/4 c
  • flour - 5 Tbsp
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 2 c
  • can crushed pineapple - 1 oz
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
  • large marshmallows - 8 item
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • bananas, sliced - 2 item
  • heavy cream, whipped - 1 c
  • lemon gelatin - 1 pkg

How to make banana split salad:

Drain pineapple, reserving 1/2 cup of juice. Bring water to a boil; add gelatin and marshmallows. Stir until dissolved. Cool until partially set. Toss bananas and lemon juice; fold bananas and pineapple into gelatin. Pour into 9-inch dish; chill until firm. Combine sugar, flour and salt. Stir in egg and pineapple juice. Cook and stir until thickened. Remove from heat. Add butter; cool. Fold in whipped cream and spread over gelatin. Sprinkle with nuts. Chill overnight.
