Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- sifted enriched flour
- broken walnuts - 1/2 c
- mashed ripe bananas - 1 c
How to make banana nut bread:
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with bananas, beating well after each addition. Stir in walnuts. Pour into well-greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan. Bake in a moderate 350° oven about 1 hour or until done. Remove from pan; cool on rack.
