Banana cream pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 5 Tbsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 2 item
- whipping cream - 1/2 pt
- ripe bananas - 3 item
- cooked pie crust 10-inch - 1 item
How to make banana cream pie:
Combine sugar, flour and salt in a double boiler; gradually add milk. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly until thickened. Cook for 10 additional minutes. Beat egg yolks. Add a little hot mixture to the eggs, beating well. Put remaining eggs in hot mixture, beating vigorously; cook 1 minute longer. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Cool. Slice bananas on top of cooked pie shell; pour cooled mixture over bananas. Top with whipping cream before serving.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
