Banana bread
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- tsp salt - 1 item
- c sugar - 1 item
- tsp baking powder - 3 item
- tsp vanilla - 1 item
- tsp baking soda - 1/4 item
- c pecans, chopped - 3/4 item
- 2/3 c all purpose flour - 2 item
- c butter, 1 stick - 1/2 item
- med ripe bananas, mashed 1 cup - 2 item
How to make banana bread:
Grease a loaf pan or line bottom with wax paper; grease paper. In a large bowl, cream shortening with sugar, sift flour, measure and sift again with soda and salt. Add alternately the flour with eggs and bananas to the cream mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Place in loaf pan. Bake in 325° oven for 1 hr and 20 min or until golden and a wooden pick inserted in middle comes out clean. Loosen around edges with knife and turn out onto rack. Peel off waxed paper.
