Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- nutmeg optional - 1 item
- medium-size eggs - 4 item
How to make baked custard:
Beat eggs slightly with fork. Add sugar, salt and vanilla. Add cold milk. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Pour into custard cups. Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired, and place in 2 or 2 1/2-inch deep pan. Pour boiling water around cups to come almost level with custard. Bake in oven at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes or until a silver knife comes out clean when inserted in center.
