Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- granulated sugar
- vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- confectioners sugar - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- ground cinnamon - 2 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1 tsp
- cream cheese, softened
- unpeeled Pippin apples, cored - 4 c
How to make apple cake:
Cinnamon Frosting:3 oz. cream cheese, softened1/2 c. butter1 c. confectioners sugar1/2 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. vanilla extract Preheat oven to 350°. Butter and flour 9 x 13-inch pan. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a bowl. Combine sugar and apples and add walnuts, oil and eggs. Add dry ingredients and stir until moistened. Spoon into pan evenly. Bake 50 to 60 minutes. Cool and frost.Frosting: Whip frosting ingredients together until light and fluffy.
