Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- milk, scalded
- eggs, beaten slightly - 4 item
How to make baked custard:
Blend eggs, sugar and salt in a small mixing bowl. Slowly stir in milk. Add vanilla. Pour into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake in 350° oven, after having placed dish in a larger baking pan filled with hot water, for 45 to 50 minutes until set and golden brown.Recipe categories: Desserts, Puddings and mousses, Egg.
