  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt
  • water - 1/2 c
  • soda
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • black walnuts - 1/3 c
  • canned applesauce
  • all-purpose or cake flour

How to make applesauce cake:

Heat oven to 350°. Grease and flour an 8 or 9-inch tube pan. Measure all ingredients into a large mixer bowl. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed scraping bowl constantly. Beat 3 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan. Bake approximately 50 minutes.
