Ingredients/Components
- apples - 5 6
- white or brown sugar depending on tartness of apples - 1/2 2/3
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- grated lemon rind - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
How to make apple pie:
Preheat oven to 450°. Line 9-inch pie plate with pie crust. Peel and core and cut apples into very thin pieces. Cover pie with a pricked upper crust. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350° and bake for an additional 45 minutes or until done.For a delicious touch, sprinkle the top crust lightly with sugar and cinnamon as you put it into the oven.
