  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • chocolate chips - 2/3 c
  • flour not sifted - 2 c
  • can Comstock apple pie filling cut apples in smaller pieces - 1 item
  • raisins or chopped dates * - 1/2 3/4

How to make apple dump cake:

*If raisins or dates seem hard or dry, soak in orange juice or water until soft.

Empty apples into mixing bowl. Add eggs; mix. Add sugar, oil, spices, vanilla, flour and soda. Mix, with a spoon or spatula, until blended. Add nuts, raisins or dates; mix. Spread in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish. Bake in a 325° oven until done, 45 to 55 minutes.

Before putting in oven, can top with chocolate chips and nuts. Or if you want to ice the cake with cream cheese icing, leave off chocolate chips and nuts.
