Apple crisp
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
- rolled oats - 1/4 c
- brown sugar, firmly packed - 1 c
- butter, softened at room temperature do not soften in microwave - 7 Tbsp
- sliced tart Granny Smith apples - 5 c
How to make apple crisp:
Mix sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Spread apples over bottom of buttered 8 or 9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle crumbly mixture over apples. Bake uncovered at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.Note: When peeling apples, put them in water with about 1 to 2 teaspoons Fruit Fresh in the water; this will keep the apples from turning brown. Drain completely before putting in the baking dish.
