Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• eggs - 4 item
• vanilla - 1/2 tsp
• milk - 1/4 c
• flour - 2 c
• brown sugar - 1 c
• soda - 2 tsp
• shortening - 1 c
• nuts - 1 c
• chopped apples - 4 c
• Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each addition

How to make apple cake:

Cream together shortening and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each addition. Sift flour, soda and cinnamon together; stir into creamed mixture. Add apples and nuts. Pour into greased 9 x 12-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Cover with glaze while warm.Glaze:1 1/2 c. powdered sugar1/4 c. milk1/2 tsp. vanilla Note: My mother got this recipe from an orchard owner.
