Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- oil
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chopped unpeeled apples - 3 c
- Karo light syrup - 1 Tbsp
- orange peel - 1 tsp
- chopped walnuts if desired - 1 c
- Mix in the apples and walnuts
- orange juice to thin - 2 3
How to make apple cake:
Beat the first 3 ingredients well, then beat in the baking soda, orange peel, salt and flour. Mix in the apples and walnuts. Bake at 350° in a greased and floured Bundt pan for 50 to 55 minutes. Cake is done when toothpick comes out clean. Invert onto rack after cooling for 10 minutes. Serve plain or iced.Icing:2 c. confectioners sugar1 Tbsp.
