Apple cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
• chopped pecans - 1/2 c
• butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 1 c
• vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• egg, beaten - 1 item
• apples - 3 c
• whipped cream or vanilla ice cream optional - 1 item

How to make apple cake:

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Stir together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in apples, nuts and vanilla. Pour into greased 8 x 10-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. While still warm, top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired. Double for sheet cake pan.
