Apple bread pudding
Ingredients/Components
- slices bread - 8 item
- medium apples - 4 item
- raisins - 1/2 c
- milk
- butter - 1/4 c
- eggs, beaten - 5 item
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
How to make apple bread pudding:
Toast bread lightly and cut diagonally into fourths. Arrange a single layer of bread in bottom of lightly greased 12 x 8-inch baking dish. Core and dice apples. Spread half the apples evenly on bread. Sprinkle raisins over apples. Arrange remaining bread on diced apples. Spread remaining apples over bread. Heat milk and butter only until butter melts. Combine eggs, sugar, spices and salt. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Pour over bread and apples. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50 minutes.
