Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- egg whites - 3 item
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- pecans, chopped - 1 c
- saltine crackers, crumbled - 8 item
How to make angel pie:
Beat egg whites with cream of tartar and add sugar gradually. Continue beating until stiff peaks hold their shape. Fold in cracker crumbs and nuts. Place mixture in a greased 8 or 9-inch pie pan. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in refrigerator. Next day, fill with whipped cream as pie sinks in the middle as it cools.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
