  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • almond extract - 1/4 tsp
  • egg whites
  • cream of tartar
  • cake flour

How to make angel food cake:

Sift flour and sugar together 5 times. Set aside. In a large bowl, mix egg whites, salt, cream of tartar, vanilla and almond extract for 3 minutes. Add 1 1/3 cups sugar and beat 1 minute longer. Turn to low speed and add flour mixture. Slowly pour into tube pan and bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
