  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • Crisco - 1 c
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • dry yeast - 3 pkg
  • lukewarm buttermilk - 2 c
  • self-rising flour unsifted - 5 c

How to make angel biscuits:

Dissolve the yeast in water. Set aside. Mix flour, sugar and soda. Cut in shortening and add buttermilk and yeast. Work into flour. Put into Tupperware and refrigerate until ready for use.
