Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- coconut - 1 c
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- raisins - 1 c
- pecans - 1 c
- cloves - 1 tsp
- sweet milk - 1 c
- pinch of soda - 1 item
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one
- apple, peeled and chopped fine - 1 item
- buttermilk add 2 tsp - 1 c
- orange, peeled and cut in small pieces - 1 item
How to make ambrosia cake:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Add flour, cocoa and spices. Add this alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture, then add apple. Cook in 3 layers in 350° oven.Filling:1 1/2 c. sugar1/4 c. butter1 c. sweet milk1 tsp. baking powder pinch of soda1 c. raisins1 c. pecans1 c. coconut1 orange, peeled and cut in small pieces1 tsp. vanilla Cook sugar, butter, sweet milk, baking powder and soda until thick.
