Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • flour
  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • oil - 1/3 c
  • light brown sugar - 1 c
  • powdered cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • each: cinnamon and baking powder - 2 tsp
  • blanched almonds whole or slightly crushed - 2 c
  • extra egg yolk, mixed with a little water - 1 item

How to make almond biscotti:

Mix the first 8 ingredients in large mixing bowl, then add flour and almonds until well blended. Separate dough into 3 parts; roll each into a "rope." Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten slightly. Brush with egg and water mixture. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes, until center is slightly firm. Cool slightly. Slice diagonally with sharp knife. Recipe can be doubled.
