White chili
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 item
- ground cloves - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 4 item
- oregano - 1 tsp
- olive oil - 1 Tbsp
- ground cumin - 2 tsp
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chicken stock - 4 c
- shredded Monterey Jack cheese - 2 c
- cans Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained - 3 oz
- cooked chopped chicken - 3 c
- cans green chilies or jalapenos - 2 1/2
- chopped chilies or jalapenos - 1 item
How to make white chili:
In Dutch oven, cook onion and garlic in olive oil until tender but not brown. Stir in cumin, oregano, cayenne and cloves. Cook 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in beans, chili peppers and stock. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes. Stir in chicken and heat through. Ladle chili into bowls. Top each with 1/4 cup cheese.
