Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- flour
- cold water - 1 c
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- chopped nuts optional - 1/2 c
- self-rising flour
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- coconut optional - 1/2 c
- melted shortening or oil - 1/3 c
How to make wacky cake:
Frosting:1/2 c. sugar1/2 c. milk2 Tbsp. margarine1 1/2 Tbsp. flour1/2 c. coconut (optional)1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)1/2 tsp. vanilla Heat oven to 350°. Combine flour, sugar and cocoa in 9 x 9-inch pan. Mix well. Make 3 holes. Pour oil, vinegar and vanilla in separate holes. Pour water over all. Mix well with fork. Do not beat! Bake for 30 minutes. Frost in pan while still warm.Frosting: Combine sugar, milk, butter or margarine and flour in saucepan and cook on medium heat until thick. Add coconut, nuts and vanilla. Mix well. Spread on warm cake.
