Tomato pudding
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- boiling water - 1/4 c
- fresh bread crumbs - 1 c
- can tomato puree - 1 oz
- Tabasco - 1/4 tsp
- melted butter 6 Tbsp - 1/2 c
How to make tomato pudding:
Mix puree, water, sugar, salt and Tabasco. Boil 5 minutes. Place bread in casserole. Pour butter over it. Let soak in. Pour tomato mixture over bread. Bake 30 minutes at 375°. Can be made several hours ahead. Cook 45 minutes if refrigerated.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Northeastern U.S..
