Ingredients/Components

  • sour cream - 1 item
  • water - 1 c
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • shredded lettuce - 2 c
  • chopped tomato - 1 item
  • 4 oz - 1 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • 25 oz
  • sliced ripe olives optional - 1 item
  • taco sauce - 1 item
  • nacho flavored tortilla chips - 1 item
  • can refried beans with sausage or plain - 1 oz

How to make taco casserole:

Brown and drain beef; add taco mix and water. Simmer until thickened, 10 minutes or so.

Grease an 11 x 7-inch baking dish. Spread beans evenly on bottom of dish. Sprinkle with lettuce and onion; top with ground beef mixture. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and garnish with chips. Serve with chili peppers, tomatoes, olives, sour cream and taco sauce (in separate dishes). Makes 6 servings.
