Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • eggs - 4 item
  • melted butter - 3/4 c
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • allspice - 1 Tbsp
  • mashed sweet potatoes - 4 c
  • large can evaporated milk - 1 item
  • baked pie shells - 2 item

How to make sweet potato pie:

Wash and boil sweet potatoes until soft. Peel potatoes and mash. Mix mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, sugar, evaporated milk, eggs, allspice and salt. Pour into pie shells and bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or until solid.

Note: I pre-cook my pie shells for about 10 minutes.
