  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • eggs, separated - 4 item
  • evaporated milk
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • coconut
  • oil
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • sifted flour
  • hot water - 4 Tbsp
  • grated sweet potatoes

How to make sweet potato cake:

Frosting:1 c. evaporated milk1 c. sugar1 stick butter3 egg yolks1 1/4 c. coconut1 tsp. vanilla Combine the oil and sugar; beat until smooth. Add egg yolk, beat well. Add hot water. Sift dry ingredients together. Stir in sweet potatoes. Beat well. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into mixture.

Bake in 3 greased (8-inch) cake (layer) pans at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and frost.

Frosting: Mix together in saucepan. Cook 12 to 15 minutes until the mixture thickens, let cool. Put between layers only.
