Sweet potato biscuits
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- baking powder - 2 Tbsp
- sifted flour
- cold shortening - 1/2 c
- 1/2 mashed sweet potatoes - 1 item
How to make sweet potato biscuits:
Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Combine milk and sweet potatoes. Add to first mixture and stir quickly. Knead lightly using as little flour as possible. On board, roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with floured cutter and place on greased baking sheet in 425° oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
