Sweet pickle relish
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- vinegar - 2 c
- celery salt - 2 tsp
- sliced onion - 8 c
- mustard seed - 2 tsp
- turmeric - 1 tsp
- sliced cucumbers - 8 c
- inch stick cinnamon - 3 item
- green or red peppers, sliced - 2 item
How to make sweet pickle relish:
Combine cucumbers, onions and salt; let stand 1 hour. Then put all together in pan with vinegar, sugar, spices and peppers. Boil 20 minutes. (Spices can be tied in a bag if you do not want them through the pickles.) Bottle and seal. Makes about 7 pints.Recipe categories: American, Vegetables, North american.
