Swedish meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- light cream - 1/2 c
- fine dry bread crumbs - 1/3 c
- ground beef - 3/4 lb
- minced onion - 1 Tbsp
- white pepper - 1/4 tsp
- ground pork - 1/4 lb
How to make swedish meatballs:
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in frying pan. Add onion and cook over low heat until lightly brown. Mix bread crumbs, water and cream and let stand a few minutes. Add ground beef and pork, salt, pepper, sugar and onion until thoroughly mixed. Shape into very small meatballs. Melt remaining butter in pan. Add meatballs and brown slowly. Allow about 25 minutes for browning. Shake pan occasionally to brown evenly. Yield: About 48 tiny meatballs.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Ground beef, Beef.
