- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 2 c
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- yellow cornmeal - 1 c
- eggs, beaten well - 4 item
How to make spoon bread:
Heat oven to 375°. Butter 2-quart casserole. In a 2-quart saucepan, bring water to boil; mix cornmeal and salt. Add in steady stream while stirring. Lower heat and cook 1 minute, stirring to avoid lumps. Beat in butter and milk until smooth. Pour into casserole and bake for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.Recipe categories: Breads, < 15 mins, Side dish.
